Why binonabiso.com?
This question can be answered in two steps:
1. Why Bino na Biso?
Bino na Biso is Lingala for "You and we". It's a very short description
of what we try to do: Cultural Exchange. Since an exchange in only one
way would not be real exchange and "x-aid-projects", where x is mostly
"development" allow not to meet on the same eye-level, Bino na Biso is
run by a team of both Austrian and Congolese people.
2. Why .com?
Bino na Biso started up a "Humanist Cooperative" in Kinshasa last year.
Our idea was and is, to have a also economic and organizational base
for cultural exchange. Our first activities are in the field of
IT-Trainings for young people, since we consider ICTs as crucial for
any from of exchange. In order to stay independent our model of a
humanist cooperative is financed by the parents of the pupils.
So why .com? Cooperatives are economic organizations - also, the .com
helps us to astonish the ones, who thought that only development-aid
would be appropriate for African countries.
